The Blastocystis Hominis parasite is basically a microscopic parasite that is transmitted by feces-oral-feces mode. This is why blastocystosis (the name given to the infection caused by this parasite) affects people who are exposed to poor hygiene and contaminated food or water. The major symptoms of the diseases are anal itching, diarrhea, excessive flatulence, weight loss, on-and-off abdominal pain among others.
Not everyone who acquires this parasite exhibits infection-related symptoms. There have been plenty of instances where the so called Blastocystis Hominis parasite was found in the stools, yet there was no untoward health problem with the human carrier. Studies show that if the infected person’s immune system is strong, there would be no symptoms. However, if the person has digestion problems and/or weaker immune system, the parasite causes many of the earlier mentioned symptoms in an off and on mode.
In fact, if you find yourself suffering from a mysterious disease that brings about any two or more of the typical symptoms associated with this disease – you should look for the Blastocystis Hominis parasite or any of the other eight remaining species.
The parasite lives normally in the mucus of the large intestine and the colon and is very strong. Medics advise those who suspect infection to use treatment that changes often – say every week lest the parasite build resistance to the drugs.
It was found that the parasite sticks very well to the inner wall of the colon and/or the large intestine making it extremely difficult to get rid of it even with extended and highly focused medication.
It is easy to acquire this parasite into your gut. All it takes is something that is not washed well or contaminated water. However, getting rid of it altogether is another matter. Among the recommended treatments that work are:
- Less or no grain-diet; the Blastocystis Hominis parasite is known to thrive on grains
- Colonic irrigation or enema with drugs or herbs that are focused on killing the micro-organism
- Highly effective fat-digesting enzymes since this parasite is known to be built with fats. The dissolution of fats weaken and kill it.
Other treatments include toning up the digestive and the immune system. The disease of Blastocystosis is more often than not seen where either the immune system is weak or the digestive tract is compromised.
Prolonged treatment is normally required; even so, it is strongly advised that the treatment sould change every 7 - 10 days (or even sooner) since the Blastocystis Hominis parasite have been known to mutate fast to acquire resistance against any particular consistent medicine or natural approach.
